Back in 1994 I had a camera that had a panorama setting on it. I can’t remember what camera it was, but it took both normal shots, and at the flick of a switch you could make panoramas. No taking multi shots and stitching, just press and go! In 1994 I took my son to Wales on holiday for 5 days, and I took quite a few panorama shots. I only re-discovered them a couple of weeks ago, happy times with my little lad Ben, who is in many of these shots, and is a strapping man of 28 years now!

Mountains and sea
We stayed in a hotel between Capel Curig and Betws-y-Coed and Ben loved playing on the rocks by the river, Afon Llugwy.
We had a day out at Penrhyn Castle, they were having a classic car bash. You can just make Ben out by the brown sign.

Ben looks so tiny in this next one 🙂
Ogden’s Cafe in the Snowdonia National park
and we also had a trip over the mountain roads to the sea at Rhyl, I google earthed it and wow is it different now! Funfairs and built up. But not back then.
I think these two are my fave shots of the holiday.
So kool!!! Me too, wish I hadn’t moved so many times… U know a gypsy travels light;(

I really like the ‘Sun Flare and Lake’ photo. It really looks as though you are capturing the essence of a being from another world (maybe even a deity). The others that I can see are quite nice as well, but I have to admit that I’m having difficulty viewing them using the link to your Smugmug account. My (browser?) must not like syncing up with that online photo storage service. Either that, or the files are very large. Each photo takes about 15 seconds to fully appear.
Just thought you should know 🙂 Melissa

Hi Again, I’ve had my New York friend Kathy check out the blog and she says the photos are there straight away, I am wondering if you meant when you click on them or just as they are in the post?

Hmmm – That’s interesting. I’m thrilled it’s not a universal problem.
When I click on the blog post, the upper portions of the photos are there, but then it takes a while for them to finish loading.
Again, it could be a problem on my end. The internet, my browser (Google Chrome), the fact that I’m using a Mac.
It could be that I need to do a bit of tweaking on my side of the wire 🙂
I didn’t meant to raise any alarm . I just thought that I’d inquire.
Cheers!

Well it’s really annoying waiting for things to load up! I’ve put a 2nd post up so see if it’s the same, if so in future I’ll upload smaller files 😊

Yes, always happy to visit 🙂
I’ve had a bit of a shake-up with my living situation in the last few weeks, but it’s all settled now and I’m ready to write again.

I enjoyed yer panos. You reminded me that my father sent me a cheap plastic panorama camera once, Gosh, late 1970s. I mostly shot it in the vertical position.

That’s a nice header shot of the Orme. The old cafe at Llyn Ogwen has been demolished to make way for a new visitor centre – https://geotopoi.wordpress.com/2013/08/24/ogwen-visitor-centre/

Wow,well that’s progress I guess. I went a few times in my early days with the army cadets way back in the 80’s and we loved getting the hotdogs through the hatch at ogdens caf.
